Process Safety Engineer/Senior

Job description

The Senior Process Safety Engineer will lead process safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety excellence.

Responsibilities

• Process Safety Procedure Development and Validation: Develop and validate process safety procedures to ensure safe operations.
• PSM Studies and Activities: Assist the Process Safety Team Leader in conducting PSM studies, tasks, and activities.
• PSM Awareness Training: Organize and supervise the implementation of PSM awareness training programs.
• Budgeting and Cost Control: Assist in developing the Process Safety section budget and control costs within budget.
• PSM Compliance Audits: Conduct audits to ensure compliance with PSM standards and procedures for other departments.
• Process Safety Walk-arounds: Lead and participate in process safety walk-arounds to identify potential hazards.
• PSM Element Implementation: Ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of all PSM elements.
• Accident and Incident Investigation: Investigate and report accidents and incidents in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
• Process Hazard Analysis (PHA): Lead and participate in PHA studies to identify and assess potential hazards.
• Process Safety Action Tracking: Review and update the tracking system for process safety actions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Experience: 7+ years of experience in the Ammonia, Urea, Methanol, or Petrochemical industries, including 5+ years as a Process Safety or Loss Prevention Engineer.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of Risk Management, Process Industry Technologies, PSM/HSE Standards, Emergency Response Planning, and the use of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Soft Skills: Strong teamwork, time management, and problem-solving skills.
